Our September trip saw optometrist Dr Bob Strohecker (Jen and Joel’s brother) doing eye exams:

Cataracts are very common here in the mountains where most people spend their lives outdoors.

Sarah Shanor, one of our regular volunteers, worked all week keeping our pharmacy going.

Dr Geoff Clover our favorite Infectious Disease Doctor diagnosing neurocysticercosis in a child.

Jessica Oliveira MSPA from “Saving Mothers” program giving a course to the midwives who work on the mountain. In the future, we will have a full time birthing center at the Camotan Clinic. “Saving Mothers” is a program that is used all over the world to lower maternal and fetal deaths.
